Musical Director/Conductor for the Penobscot Bay Singers:
“Celebrating the Next 50 Years!”
Location: Waldo / Knox County; Rehearsals: Belfast, Maine

Penobscot Bay Singers is a small, but growing, community chorus with a devoted following within the Knox and Waldo County communities. It is comprised of people who love to sing together, and strive to sing well.
Responsibilities of the Director/Conductor:
- Lead the planning of musical selections for two to three musical seasons (concert programs) per year.
- Lead weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, in Belfast, from 6:45 – 8:45 PM
- Conduct two to three concerts per musical season per year.
- Serve as vocal coach using warmups and effective teaching methods to prepare the chorus and create an environment that encourages personal growth and interpersonal communication.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors, and the Music and Finance Committees to grow and improve the chorus and improve its visibility in the community.
Qualifications: the applicant should have:
- A strong background as a musical director/conductor of an adult choral group
- Knowledge, understanding and appreciation for a wide range of choral genres and styles
- Exceptional communication skills
- Appropriate Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, or the equivalent
