Lincoln Academy, an independent Town Academy founded in 1801 seeks a dynamic and skilled Choral Director to lead its established, award-winning choral program.
Serving students from over 15 local towns and up to 55 domestic and international boarding students, Lincoln Academy offers a vibrant and diverse learning environment rooted in 220 years of educational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
– Direct the Lincolnaires Honor Choir (auditioned) and Concert Choir (non-auditioned)
– Teach healthy vocal techniques, music literacy, and audition prep for District, All State, and – All State Jazz ensembles (Typical outcomes: 25–30 students qualify for Districts; 8–10 for All State; 2–4 for All State Jazz).
– Potential to teach music electives (e.g., piano, guitar, AP Music Theory)
– Build supportive relationships with students, faculty, and the school community
Additional Duties
– Advise a student group
– Support the boarding program
– Collaborate within a diverse academic setting
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s Degree in Music or related field required
– Maine Music Education Certification (or willingness to obtain)
– Experience with second language learners a plus
– Strong communication and collaboration skills
– Commitment to professional development
